2.9.0

Added

  • Group background colors for Readouts and Toolbars. Each readout group and each toolbar group in Settings now has its own background color option, so you can color-code groups instead of just individual readouts or buttons. Transparent by default, same as before.
  • Wind Lines / Flight Winds settings, in one place. Line width, outline width, and To/From label visibility for Wind Lines and Flight Winds now live together in a "Wind Lines / Flight Winds" section on the Settings screen, alongside the heading-hold color. A gear icon on both the Wind Lines and Flight Winds panels opens the same settings directly.

2.8.0

Added

  • Prohibited Zone (PZ) Manager: import OziExplorer files. .wpt waypoint files and .plt track files now import directly — tracks come in as closed polygons, waypoints as points — and convert to GeoPackage automatically. Files using a datum other than WGS 84 are flagged since coordinates aren't reprojected.
  • PZ Manager: drag-and-drop import. Drop a file onto the PZ Manager panel to import it, instead of QGIS adding it as a raw, unstyled layer.
  • PZ Manager: merge layers. Select several same-type layers and merge them into one GeoPackage from the button or right-click menu.
  • PZ Manager: export to GPX. GPX joins GeoPackage and KML as an export option — polygons export as their boundary line, points as waypoints.
  • PZ Manager: two new style presets — Green PZ and Grey PZ — added alongside the existing category presets.

Fixed

  • Crash when other pilots' shared layers were on the map. Opening the task editor, or flying with shared tracking layers visible, could crash LtaGo. Fixed.
  • Error after a pilot's shared layers were removed while their waypoint visibility was still being toggled. Fixed.

2.7.0

Added

  • Prohibited Zone (PZ) Manager — a new dockable panel for managing airspace and prohibited-zone layers.
    • Style presets: apply a ready-made look (Red PZ, Yellow PZ, Boundary, Class C/D, No Takeoffs, Targets, Info) or your own .qml to one or more layers at once. Styling sticks across sessions.
    • Categorize & filter: tag layers with a category, then filter the list or isolate a category on the map — without changing the underlying data.
    • Edit zones: a floating editor to add features, edit vertices, delete features, and add new Polygon or Point layers, with a banner showing which layer you're editing.
    • Import & export: load existing files as-is, convert to GeoPackage when you want to, and export zones to KML (readable in Google Earth) or GeoPackage with styling included.

Fixed

  • Long flights no longer slow down as your GPS trail grows — the track tail is drawn far more efficiently.
  • Exporting a large tracking session no longer freezes QGIS — the export now runs in the background.

Changed

  • General speed-ups for long tracking sessions: counts, exports, and background sync stay fast as points pile up.

2.6.18

  • No more spurious "save changes?" prompt when starting QGIS.
  • A default rings size of "0" no longer adds a stray 0 ring to new waypoints — it's treated as "no default".
  • Pilot rings now clear when GPS disconnects (the trail still stays, as before).

2.6.17

  • Changing the ruler color now updates the map immediately instead of waiting for the next redraw.

2.6.16

  • Unlocking the rulers dialog no longer leaves a ghost ruler on the map.

2.6.15

Added

  • Unified LTAgo map tool — one map tool now handles the ruler and waypoint drag, with a right-click context menu for switching between actions.
  • Unlock-to-drag toggle so waypoints and ruler vertices can't be moved accidentally.
  • Reset Everything now asks for confirmation before wiping things out.
  • Tools menu toolbar button for quicker access to LTAgo actions.
  • Hide QGIS Toolbars action and a grouped "LTAgo! Initialization" section for a cleaner workspace.

Fixed

  • Navigate To now uses EPSG:4326 correctly and picks the closest waypoint as expected.

2.6.14

  • Windows freeze fixed for good. Active-flight upload (every 30s) and end-of-session upload are back on, and neither can hang QGIS anymore, even on machines where Windows Defender or OneDrive is scanning plugin files. (Sync was temporarily disabled in 2.6.10 and 2.6.11 as a workaround; this release is the proper fix.)

2.6.7

  • Fixed minute-long QGIS freezes on Windows triggered by elevation lookups (AGL readout, Map Info elevation). They now run in the background and no longer block the map every time you move the mouse or get a GPS fix.

2.6.6

  • Better battery life on Windows laptops when no session is active — the Session Status widget stops ticking when there's nothing to track.

2.6.5

Added

  • New UTM 4/4 readout — your current GPS position as a 4-digit easting/northing pair. Enable it in Settings → Readouts.

Fixed

  • Newly added readouts (UTM 4/4, AGL, Clock) now show up in the readouts picker instead of being silently missing.
  • Identifying and snapping to waypoints now only matches your layers — waypoints broadcast by other pilots are ignored.
  • "Reset Grid" and "Reset Non-Grid" no longer fail when the layer group contains sub-groups (e.g. the "Shared" sub-group).

2.6.4

Added

  • Configurable LtaGo data directory (Settings → Storage) for the local track-history database and future plugin data. Defaults to a sensible per-platform folder instead of your user-profile root.

Changed

  • Common layer labels (Boundary, Info, NoTakeoffs) now use Arial instead of Helvetica, so they render correctly on Windows.

Fixed

  • No more QGIS freezes on Windows when starting a recording session.
  • GPS readouts (altitude, heading, speed, position) and the flight-winds sampler ignore bad partial fixes instead of letting them break the readouts and wind bands.

2.6.3

  • Navigation target now syncs over WebSocket — the web replay shows when you started navigating to a waypoint and when you stopped.

2.6.2

  • Dedicated toolbar icons for Navigate To, Landing, and Glide Path (no longer share icons with select / drop calculator).

2.6.1

Added

  • Wind Lines CSV import now accepts pre-bucketed telemetry (Bucket Start, Sample Count) and auto-converts speed (km/h, mph, kts, m/s) and altitude (ft, m, km) to your configured units.

Fixed

  • Vertical-speed readout settles faster when climb or descent levels off.

2.6.0

Added

  • Live vertical-speed overlay on Glide Path — your actual climb/descent trajectory (from GPS) is drawn alongside the projected path.
  • Tracking-state indicator on the QGIS plugins toolbar, color-coded by share/connect state.
  • Hide all windows toolbar action.
  • New yellow "connecting" state on the WebSocket connection toggle.

Fixed

  • Smoother, more accurate vertical-speed readout.

2.5.0

Added

  • Glide Path tool — projects your future ground track through observed Flight Winds bands at a configurable vertical rate. Negative rate descends to ground (uses AGL); positive ascends to a target altitude. Drawn as a full polyline + endpoint marker, red for descent and blue for ascent.
  • Default Drop Rate setting (General → Defaults). Glide Path's vertical-rate input is pre-populated from this when opened, with a reset button (↺) to restore it. Included in JSON export/import and push/pull-to-API.
  • Wind Source dropdown in Glide Path — switch the projection between observed Flight Winds, current GPS heading, or any saved Wind Lines tab. Auto-refreshes when opened so new tabs appear immediately.

Changed

  • Drop Calculator is now part of Glide Path. When no Flight Winds bands are recorded, Glide Path synthesizes a single virtual band from current GPS heading + ground speed — collapsing to the old straight-line drop projection. CPA release timing and time-to-endpoint readouts carry over.

2.4.0

Added

  • Self heading line now shows time-based tick marks at configurable minute intervals (default 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60). Line length tracks current GPS ground speed.
  • Bearing line from pilot to the navigation target.
  • "None" snap rounding option for meter-precision polygon vertices.
  • Common shared layer styles.

Changed

  • "Bearing Line" settings renamed to "Heading Line".
  • Self heading line is hidden when GPS speed is unknown or zero.
  • Live tracking error messages now use a quick 2-second toast instead of a persistent warning bar.

Fixed

  • Default 4×4 waypoint label stays in sync when the waypoint is moved.

2.3.0

Added

  • Plugin version label on the QGIS plugins toolbar.
  • Snapped point label shown in the map info widget.

Changed

  • Default grid size is now 75 with 1 km spacing.

Fixed

  • 4×4 grid reference wraps to the nearest 100 km block using a 50 km threshold.

2.0.1

Added

  • GPX export for recorded sessions (track points, speed/heading extensions, final waypoint state).
  • GPX import for sessions, with sync-status indicator.
  • Session delete with proper child-row cleanup.
  • Flight winds table sortable by altitude (click column header).
  • WebSocket connection status toggle button (green/red) in the QGIS main toolbar.
  • Settings window is resizable, and remembers its size.

Changed

  • Share Location button now controls only GPS broadcast; the WebSocket lifecycle is managed independently.
  • Session sync status renamed "Pending" → "Local" for clarity.
  • Flight winds averaging is now weighted by altitude proximity to band center and by sample recency (5-minute half-life).

Fixed

  • Session sync is now marked complete only after all upload steps succeed — partial syncs are resumable.
  • Smoother rendering, especially of pilot rings.
  • WebSocket reconnect uses exponential backoff (5s → 120s) so it doesn't hammer the server.

2.0.0

Added

  • Flight session recording with offline-first local track store — survives reconnects and reloads.
  • Session replay with timeline scrubber, playback controls, and altitude profile chart.
  • Waypoint event log showing color-coded new/edit/delete events with elapsed timestamps.
  • Flight report form with UTM coordinates (4×4 grid reference) and closest approach table.
  • Session sharing via shareable public links — no login required.
  • GPX export of recorded sessions.
  • Waypoint markers now use the plugin color and render ring overlays.
  • Multi-vertex map ruler with per-segment distances and bearings, persisted across sessions.
  • Map overlay system supporting KML, KMZ, GPKG, and GPX with color picker and visibility toggles.
  • In-app and web push notifications (group invites, tracking events, waypoint label matches).
  • Color-matched trail polylines for tracked users with global and per-user toggles.
  • Per-user waypoint visibility toggles.
  • Waypoint detail dialog with UTM coordinates, altitude conversion, and directions (Google / Apple Maps).
  • Configurable location log interval filter for dense tracking data.
  • Screen wake lock while sharing location, to prevent the browser from backgrounding.
